Companies in Estonia that hold virtual currency exchange and wallet licences required to fill a questionnaire says government

The Estonian Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) will be sending a survey questionnaire via e-mail to all companies licensed to provide virtual currency exchange and / or virtual currency wallet services this week in the form of a precept.

The purpose of the survey is to recive information about the size of the sector, the users of the service and the activities of service providers in managing money laundering risks.

The survey data will provide an analysis that will help the FIU to plan its activities, provide the FIU with an insight into the services offered by companies in the market, and analyze the risks and threats of money laundering and terrorist financing associated with these sectors. .

Responding to a precept is mandatory and the precept must be answered in Estonian.

The survey questionnaire is available in a specific web environment and contains questions about numerical data as well as descriptive questions. Companies will have 2 weeks to respond to the precept.
